MINNEAPOLIS — A cornerback for the Vikings said he did not deserve to be cited for two misdemeanors after an altercation occurred outside the emergency room at Children’s Hospital.
Benny Sapp left his son with hospital security — the boy’s mother was in the next hallway and was coming to get him, the Star Tribune reports. Sapp had to leave to go to work, but when he got into his truck to drive away, a security officer stepped in front of his truck to stop him.
According to Public Information Officer Bill Palmer of the Minneapolis Police Department, a physical altercation occurred between Sapp and the officer, and Sapp “used his vehicle to try to move the officer out of the way.”
