MANATEE COUNTY, Fla. — The Manatee County School Board has suspended three Manatee High School administrators without pay for their alleged roles in covering up complaints of sexual abuse by one of the school’s football coaches.
Rod Frazier, the former football coach at the high school, has been charged with seven counts of battery for allegedly groping students and staff, ABC News reports. Frazier resigned from his position when allegations arose against him.
However, district officials began investigating five school administrators after reports that the individuals did not report the abuse to authorities or improperly handled investigations into the allegations. Two of the administrators resigned from their positions, while the three who did not resign were suspended.
The trio also faces charges of failing to report child abuse and lying to police. They have denied all accusations.
