Three teens were arrested after gunshots were heard outside of a Miami football stadium during a playoff game between two high schools Nov. 20.
Kaion Lynch, 18, Mark Trimble, 19, and Larico Walker, 18, were arrested by police shortly after the shots were fired and charged with possession of a firearm on school property, according to the Miami Herald.
The shooting occurred in the parking lot of Nathaniel “Traz” Powell Stadium in the final minutes of a game between Miami Central High School and Carol City High School.
No injuries were reported, but the gunfire created a chaotic scene in the stadium as people on the field ducked for cover and people in the stands rushed for the exits. Many people took to social media to document the incident and vent their frustration over a recent spate of gun violence in the area.
Police questioned several people outside of the stadium and rushed into the stands in an attempt to calm everyone down. After a delay the game was completed.
