Fight Prompts Lockdown at S.C. Hospital

MYRTLE BEACH, S.C. — Security personnel at Grand Strand Regional Medical Center placed the facility on lockdown Saturday after a fight broke out in the emergency room lobby.

The fight began after three people with gunshot wounds were admitted to the hospital between 4:00 and 4:30 a.m. The brawl broke out between the family and friends who came with the three patients. It is unclear what sparked the fight, reports.

The lockdown lasted from 10 a.m. until 3 p.m. All entrances were locked, except for on to the ER, which a security officer managed.
