Fight Prompts Lockdown at S.C. Hospital

MYRTLE BEACH, S.C. — Security personnel at Grand Strand Regional Medical Center placed the facility on lockdown Saturday after a fight broke out in the emergency room lobby.

The fight began after three people with gunshot wounds were admitted to the hospital between 4:00 and 4:30 a.m. The brawl broke out between the family and friends who came with the three patients. It is unclear what sparked the fight, MyrtleBeachOnline.com reports.

The lockdown lasted from 10 a.m. until 3 p.m. All entrances were locked, except for on to the ER, which a security officer managed.
