WASHINGTON – The FBI and DHS have evaluated the recent Internet based WMD threats to NFL Stadiums and determined them to be hoaxes.
Additionally, Jake Brahm, a 20-year-old grocery store clerk from Wisconsin was arrested Oct. 20 for making the threats. Authorities believe Brahm was the individual who wrote online that dirty bombs would be detonated at seven NFL football games this past weekend.
He admitted posting the threats, some 40 in all, since September. Brahm was charged with making terrorist threats via the Internet. He could serve five years in jail and pay a $250,000 fine if convicted.
The suspect was released without being required to post bail. Authorities say he has no criminal history and has strong ties to the community.
