LE ROY, N.Y. — Reporters and representatives of environmental crusader Erin Brockovich were ordered off the campus of Le Roy Junior-Senior High School Jan. 28. Brockovich had said she would send representatives to collect soil samples in connection to a cluster of students with unusual neurological symptoms.
The district said in a statement that the sample collector and TV crews were disrupting a planned event involving students from 22 schools and that the sampling was not done in accordance with accepted standards, Democrat and Chronicle reports.
As many as 15 students have come forward since last summer or fall exhibiting Tourette’s syndrome symptoms such as tics, twitches and verbal outbursts.
