The Allentown School District has reached an agreement with the union of its security officers and is working on another with its secretarial union.
The district’s contract with its Security Professionals of America expired Aug. 31. District Superintendent Russell Mayo declined to discuss details of the tentative agreement, which was sent back to district officials Dec. 10 for minor language changes, Lehighvalleylive.com reports.
In September, the union had threatened a strike after alleging the the district planned to outsource the work if an agreement could not be reached.
