ST. CHARLES, Mo. — Francis Howell School District is planning to install a mass notification system to inform parents and teachers of school cancellations due to inclement weather.
Previously, families had to watch the news to see if there was a school cancellation, FHC Today reports. With the new system, parents can opt to receive text or E-mail messages about emergencies, snow days and school events.
The system, which will cost $14,800, is being paid for by reallocated funds that were previously used for a survey system, according to Chief Information Officer Ray Eernisse.
