WALNUT, Calif. — The Walnut Valley Unified School District Board of Education voted on June 29 to approve a $13,500 agreement between the district and Security Signal Devices Inc. The agreement replaces Cal Poly Pomona as the district’s after-hours security monitoring company.
The change will save the district $35,000 annually, the Walnut Patch reports. The new agreement also includes a fire package. The district has also started a security camera pilot program at Collegewood Elementary School.
In May, burglars broke into C.J. Morris Elementary and stole 47 Macbooks worth approximately $61,000. Four suspects were later arrested.
