District Revises Disciplinary Policy on Firearms, Threats

GLENDALE, Calif.
Published: March 7, 2010

Students who bring imitation firearms on campus that causes others to feel a serious threat to their safety are subjected to suspension or expulsion, according to a recently revised policy from the Glendale Unified School District.

In addition, students who threaten school officials or school property are also subjected to suspension or expulsion, even if the student did not intend to carry out the threat, reports the Clark Chronicle.

In the event that such severe incidents occur, administrators will call in witnesses to get background information on the situation. Additionally, administrators will contact the school district to decide on the degree of suspension.
