LONG BEACH, Calif. — The Long Beach Unified School District eliminated campus security officers (CSOs) at all of its middle schools as part of a round of budget cuts in July.

The district has cut more than $330 million from its budget and more than 1,000 jobs in the past four years to offset losses in state funding.
