Denver U Minorities Accuse Campus Police of Profiling

DENVER, At a diversity committee meeting Oct. 25, several minority students attending the University of Denver voiced their concerns regarding discrimination and racial profiling by campus police.

The students are members of the school’s Black Student Alliance, Hispanic Student Alliance and Native American Student Alliance. Other minorities also participated in the meeting.

They called for an active investigation regarding racial profiling and discrimination on campus. Many expressed dissatisfaction over how they have been treated by campus police, saying they were targeted as minorities.

During the meeting, several members recounted their own experiences of when they were discriminated against at school. Additionally, many said they felt invisible within the campus community.
