Death Toll From Alabama Bus Crash Rises to 4

HUNTSVILLE, Ala. – A fourth student has died from injuries she sustained while riding in a bus that veered off an Alabama highway and fell 30 feet headfirst onto the street below.

Crystal Renee McCrary, 17, was identified as the fourth fatality in the crash. Christina Collier, 18, Nicole Ford, 17, and Tanesha Hill, whose age was not released, were pronounced dead on Monday.

The accident occurred Nov. 20 after their bus left the Huntsville Center for Technology just after 10 a.m. The bus was carrying 34 students from Lee High School, and more than 30 were injured. Fifteen remain in the hospital with four listed in critical condition.

A small car may have struck or come close to striking the bus, causing it to crash through the guardrail and land below the overpass.

The bus was not equipped with seat belts.
