Data of 2,500 U. of Colorado Employees Accessed

COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. – A hacker has compromised the information of approximately 2,500 current and former University of Colorado at Colorado Springs employees, school officials announced.

The names, Social Security numbers, birth dates and addresses of staff members dating back to 2004 were accessed by a hacker on Jan. 27. The attacker also infected the computer with a virus.

Employees were informed of the breach on Jan. 31.
