HANOVER, N.H. — Dartmouth College’s new mass notification system underwent its first annual audible testing on Feb. 23. The system was installed in mid-January.
The system is equipped with a siren and an automated voice that provides instruction to the campus community in case of an incident, The Dartmouth reports. This is an upgrade from the college’s DartAlert system, which relies on cell phone and E-mail notifications.
Several students said the system’s alarm and voice announcements lacked clarity during the test.
