CS Wins Publishing Excellence Honor

LOS ANGELES – Campus Safety left the 56th Maggie Award ceremony a winner, securing the Best Public Safety/Trade magazine award. Put on by the Western Publications Association (WPA), the Maggie Awards are one of the most prestigious magazine publishing awards in the western U.S.

The awards encompass both consumer and trade magazines, and categories ranging from sports and automotive, business, home/design, political and alternative lifestyles. CS won its honor in the second year it has been nominated. Last year, the bimonthly hospital, school and university security publication was nominated for Most Improved/Trade magazine.

Known as “the Oscars of the magazine industry”, the Maggies received nearly 2,000 entries representing more than 450 magazines. For the past 56 years, the Maggie Awards have recognized the hard work, dedication and creative talents of publishing executives and professionals working in the industry today.

Ninety-six Maggies were handed out at the banquet held on April 27 in Los Angeles. Six-hundred publishing professionals attended the black-tie affair, including CS Executive Editor Robin Hattersley Gray.
