Idaho Hospital Shifts from Sheriff to Private Firm for Security

REXBURG, Idaho — T & R Security will be providing security for the county-owned Madison Memorial Hospital. Previously, the hospital’s security needs were provided by the Madison County Sheriff’s Office.

The security firm was started by Madison Chief Deputy Ryan Kaufman, the Standard Journal reports. The firm received the contract because it offered the most competitive bid, said Audrey Fletcher, Madison Memorial’s chief human resources officer.

The published Madison County budget lists the Sheriff’s Office as the hospital’s security provider, but Sheriff Roy Klingler said the change in contract status wasn’t reflected in the budget.
