Conditions Remain Poor at Lubbock State School

Texas’ quality rating system has given Lubbock State School a 20 out of a possible 100 score more than a year after health officials addressed federal civil rights violations. The score was the third worst out of the rated facilities.

A state inspection recently found critical deficiencies in the building that jeopardized resident health and safety. The findings threatened the school’s certification to care for mentally disabled residents.
