Colorado Schools To Close During Democratic National Convention
DENVER – When the Democratic National Convention (DNC) arrives in Denver, the Auraria Higher Education Center campus, home to the University of Colorado Denver, Metropolitan State College and the Community College of Denver, will be closed Aug. 25-29.
The fall semester for all three schools begins Aug. 11. The semester starts early because of the DNC, however, during the convention, all classes will be canceled. Initially, citizens were told that the area would remain open during the convention.
Campus police and staff needed for the physical plant will be allowed to access buildings on campus during the convention. Additionally, student housing will remain open.
