Colorado State University’s (CSU) board of governors has voted unanimously on a weapons policy that may reverse its role as being one of the few university’s in the nation that allows concealed guns on campus.
While the nine board members voted unanimously, they are leaving details of the policy up to CSU’s three campus presidents.
Earlier in the year, CSU-Fort Collins’ public safety team and the president’s cabinet voted against concealed weapons on campus, reports the Denver Post. The vote was later followed by a student senate vote that was largely in favor of allowing the weapons.
The potential policy change has possible “political repercussions,” according to the SU-Fort Collins student body president Dan Gearheart.
The final policy isn’t expected to reach the board until February.
