WARRENSBURG, Mo. — Security personnel at the University of Central Missouri turned away six members of the College Republicans group from attending President Barack Obama’s speech at the college Wednesday, citing the group as a security threat.

Earlier in the day, the students, wearing Republican-inspired clothing, had protested the president’s economic policies with signs. However, group members claim that when it came time for the president’s speech, they had put away their signs and just wanted to listen to what President Obama had to say, The College Fix reports.
The small group, which had tickets for the event, voiced its confusion on why they were denied admittance when 2,500 other audience members were allowed to attend. Additionally, group members said that due to heat exhaustion, plenty of people left the venue early, generating seats to be filled in the university’s recreation center.
