SAN DIEGO — Security On Campus (SOC) will offer its Jeanne Clery Act Training seminar at the University of San Diego (USD) on Nov. 10-11. The training will be held at the campus’ Kroc Institute for Peace and Justice in partnership with the USD Department of Public Safety.
The day and a half-long seminar walks participants through each aspect of compliance including:
- Collecting, classifying and counting crime statistics
- Ongoing disclosures – timely warning and public crime log
- Victim support services and security programs
- Annual security report
Additionally, the presentation has been updated to include the new requirements related to:
- Emergency response and immediate notification
- Missing student protocols
- Expanded hate crime reporting
- Partnering with local police
- Fire safety reporting
At the conclusion of this interactive, multidisciplinary training, participants will be equipped with the tools necessary to address all reporting requirements in a comprehensive manner. Campus security and police, student affairs, legal counsel, residential life, victim advocates, admissions officers and human resources staff are encouraged to attend.
