NEW HAVEN, Conn. — A civil suit has been filed on behalf of a Yale University graduate student who was killed in 2009 by a school employee. The lawsuit claims the university allowed aggressive male behavior toward women to be tolerated.
Annie Lee was found stuffed behind a wall of a lab building after she was strangled by Raymond Clark, USA Today reports. The lawsuit alleges that the university was aware that Clark posed a potential threat to Le’s safety.
In addition, the lawsuit alleges that Yale was slow to respond when Le went missing, the Hartford Courant reports. A fire alarm went off in the building where Le worked on Sept. 8, 2009, and university officials should have known she did not exit the building, according to the lawsuit.
