LOS ANGELES – Students at the University of Southern California (USC) are on alert after two female students were sexually assaulted near off-campus housing owned by the university, according to the Los Angeles Times.
The first attack occurred Sept. 5 around 1:30 a.m. A female student was walking when a man grabbed her from behind, groped her and sexually assaulted her. The following day, another female student, who was walking alone, was approached by three men around 1 a.m. One of the men pretended to be an escort, walked her to her apartment and sexually assaulted her. In both cases, the assailant fled the scene.
Police have increased their patrols around the area. Students are advised to walk in groups and to walk in well-lighted areas.
