Campus Safety Conference Starts This Tuesday, Feb. 19

LOS ANGELES – The Campus Safety Conference will be held Feb. 19-20 at the Long Beach Convention Center, in Long Beach, Calif.

The conference features a four-hour session on Critical Incident Response at Schools and Universities presented by Philip L. Mullendore, director for the Institute for Campus Safety and executive director of the California College and University Police Chiefs Association (CCUPCA), and Art Ruditsky, president of Police Training Services Co. (PTSC). The session will cover how armed officers, unarmed officers, administrators and teachers can most effectively respond to active shooters on campus.

John Giduck, author of Terror at Beslan: A Russian Tragedy with Lessons for America’s Schools will serve as one of the keynote speakers for the event. Other conference topics will include “Selecting the Right Mass Notification Solution for Your Campus,” “Achieving Campus Communications Interoperability,” “Working With the Media,” “Incident Command and Management on Campus,” and “Enhancing Physical Safety with Networked Services.”

In addition, winners of Campus Safety’s Director of the Year will be announced on Feb. 19 at the reception following the first day of events.
