Miami University campus police are being credited with thwarting an alleged rape on campus earlier this month.

Officer Jay Young stopped the assault then fought with the suspect, according to the Examiner. Yuyang David Bai, 20, a Miami University student, is accused of trying to take Young’s gun during the altercation.

The suspect was able to flee from Young, but a second officer apprehended him.

Bai is free on $25,000 and is scheduled to appear in court on Nov. 25.
