Call Box Stops Attempted Rape

TALLAHASSEE, Fla.—Florida State University (FSU) police arrested a rape suspect after the victim notified them using one of the school’s blue light emergency phones.

The alleged attempted assault occured early Saturday morning. A female student contacted FSU police using an emergency call box. After only a few minutes, the police searched for the suspect, 33-year-old James Jackson, and located him north of campus.

The alleged incident occurred when the suspect grabbed the victim from behind. She was able to fight back and run away.
