LOS ANGELES – Four individuals have been arrested in the Sept. 19 shootings of two people at a Los Angeles high school.
The attacks occurred in the gymnasium parking lot of Washington Preparatory High School shortly after a football game. A 12-year-old girl and 19-year-old former student were shot multiple times in what police say is a gang-related incident. Both were said to be in stable condition at a local hospital on Sept. 20.
The identities of the four suspects and two victims have not been released.
School officials say security will be increased this week both at Washington Preparatory and at Audubon Middle School, which is attended by the 12-year-old victim. Crisis counselors will also be on hand at both campuses.
According to the Los Angeles Times, there was additional security at the game due to heightened gang tensions in the community.
