GLENDALE, Calif. — Following several incidents at schools in the Glendale Unified School District (GUSD), officials plan to upgrade security at all 30 of the district’s campuses.
Part of the security upgrades will include installing security cameras and panic buttons. GUSD also wants to create a single entry point at all elementary schools, the Los Angeles Times reports.
In December, police arrested a man for allegedly simulating firing a weapon at passing cars outside Glenoaks Elementary School. Last month, the district evacuated 880 students at R.D. White Elementary after an anonymous caller phoned in a bomb threat at the school.
