Burglars Foiled During Hospital ATM Heist

EDMOND, Okla. — An emergency room staffer at OU Medical Center-Edmond stopped a theft-in-progress at the entrance of the hospital Thursday.

The employee was watching security cameras when he saw a group of men enter the south entrance of the hospital with a red dolly, The Edmond Sun reports. The men then attempted to carry the ATM out of the door. The employee called 9-1-1.

The hospital employs off-duty police officers as security officers, so they responded to the scene within seconds.
