LIMA, Ohio – Due to a telephoned bomb threat, two state colleges in northwest Ohio evacuated their shared campus and canceled classes on Oct. 17.
Rhodes State College and Ohio State University share nine buildings. Bomb-sniffing dogs and sheriff’s deputies searched the buildings, however, no evidence of a bomb was found.
The search began after a caller told a campus switchboard operator that a bomb would go off in the afternoon, however, the called did not give details.
Rhodes State spokesperson said the campus was evacuated because it was the safest plan possible, given the circumstances.

The schools have previously evacuated and canceled classes on April 18 when someone phoned in about a bomb scare.
