ROY, Utah — A teenager originally charged with felony possession of a weapon of mass destruction for his part in a bomb plot pleaded no contest Thursday to a reduced charge after prosecutors determined he played a small role in the plot.
Dallin Morgan pleaded no contest to criminal mischief and was sentenced to 105 days in jail and 18 months’ probation, the Los Angeles Times reports. It was concluded that the plot was dreamed up by Morgan’s 16-year-old accomplice, Joshua Hoggan.
The initial charges against the teens detailed an expansive plot that included securing blueprints of Roy High School and a plan to commandeer a plane to escape. The plan was foiled when a classmate alerted school officials after receiving text messages warning of the plan.
