LAFAYETTE, Colo. – A 16-year-old male student is accused of planting an explosive device at Centaurus High School Monday morning.

What appeared to be a pipe bomb was in a paper bag and discovered by a teacher, who then took it outside. Later a bomb squad removed it from campus and detonated it in a construction lot, reports the Associated Press.

The teen was arrested Monday night where additional evidence linking him to the bomb was found.

The suspect could be charged with possession of incendiary materials, felony menacing and interfering with an educational institution, reports the Daily Camera.
