Body Found Near Christian Brothers University Campus

MEMPHIS, Tenn. – The Memphis Police Department says it has discovered the identity of the body lying in a yard just north of the Christian Brothers University (CBU) campus.

The body, which was found the morning of Dec. 27, prompted CBU police to intensify their patrols of the campus. Police also issued an alert to the university community and asked everyone to remain vigilant and report any suspicious activity.

Now police say the body belongs to 23-year-old Eugene Antonio Williams. According to the medical examiner, the body displayed a puncture wound in the chest, indicating that Williams was likely killed when he fell on a sharp object.

Williams had in his possession several sharp objects consistent with his wound, police say.

Anyone with information pertaining to the investigation are encouraged to call Crime Stoppers at (901) 528-CASH or the CBU Department of Campus Safety at (901) 321-4210.
