Black Students Withdraw From Ohio College Over Racial Threat

NELSONVILLE, Ohio
Published: February 3, 2010

At least two black students left Hocking College in Ohio and several others moved out of a dormitory to protest the school’s handling of a racial graffiti threat, Fox News reports.

The school’s president, Ron Erickson, attempted to reassure students of their safety by beefing up security and moving into the dorm after the school discovered a threat scrawled on a bathroom wall that black students would die on Feb. 2.

Hocking remained open, and Erickson described the threat as an ignorant act that didn’t represent the school.

Currently campus police and the FBI are investigating who posted the threat; however, no one has been identified.
