NASHVILLE, Tenn. — The Metro Nashville Police Department announced on Wednesday that an arrest warrant has been issued for Chrysta Thomas, mother of the 2025 Antioch High School shooter. Thomas, 40, is wanted on a charge of unlawful gun possession by a convicted felon.

Laboratory analysis of the pistol used by 17-year-old Solomon Henderson in the January 22, 2025, Antioch High School shooting revealed Thomas’s DNA on the weapon, reports WSMV. However, in 2010 she was convicted of a felony in Los Angeles for possession of a stolen vehicle, making her ineligible to legally own a firearm. Thomas and her family reportedly moved from their Antioch home shortly after the school shooting.

Thomas’s name has been entered into the FBI’s National Crime Information Center computer system, allowing for nationwide extradition.

The shooting at Antioch High School resulted in the death of 16-year-old Dayana Escalante and injury to a male student before Henderson took his own life. Investigators discovered a 288-page online diary by Henderson, detailing his admiration for infamous mass murderers and outlining his plot to kill at least ten people.
The diary, which began months before the attack, revealed Henderson’s mental health struggles and fears of being discovered by law enforcement. His online activity included praise for Adolf Hitler and engagement with alt-right paraphernalia. It also showed connections to social media accounts promoting white nationalist and violently misogynistic incel content.
