DuPont™ of Wilmington, Del., releases the Kevlar® XP™, a patented technology that provides ballistic and trauma protection in a more comfortable body armor solution.
DuPont representatives say that both its own tests and independent tests show that Kevlar XP stops bullets within the first three layers of a vest designed with a total of 11 layers.
According to the company, the vest typically provides a 15 percent reduction in backface deformation. Additionally, it provides excellent layer to layer abrasion resistance.
