Ark. District Installs 128 Campus Cameras

DEWITT, Ark. — DeWitt schools are being outfitted with 128 cameras at a cost of $242,080.71.

The new cameras have already helped to resolve several “he said, she said”-type disputes, according to DeWitt High School Dean of Students Doug Corley. The high school’s old video surveillance system had 16 cameras and did not cover areas such as the gym or the picnic tables; the new system has 58 cameras, the DeWitt Era-Enterprise reports.

Administrators can monitor the cameras from their office and an app can be provided to the police department if needed to monitor the system.
