Anti-Abortion Activists Sue Community College

DAYTON, Ohio — Two anti-abortion activists who are students at Sinclair Community College have filed a lawsuit against the school for allegedly violating their First Amendment rights during a rally on Sunday.

The suit claims that the college’s “vague policies” unconstitutionally restrict efforts to distribute literature on campus, host and participate in political rallies and display political messages, the Dayton Daily News reports. Participants in a “Stand Up for Religious Freedom” rally claim campus police made them lower their signs and take down a banner.

The suit seeks a permanent injunction to stop the college from restricting students’ activities, nominal damages and expenses incurred during the legal proceedings.
