PARADISE, Pa. – Many of Pennsylvania’s Amish schools do not plan on increasing security even after a deadly school shooting occurred on Oct. 3 at the West Nickel Mines Amish School.
The Amish lack many of the technologically advanced amenities so common in other parts of the nation, and use simple locks to secure their schoolhouses.
The West Nickel Mines Amish School was closed Oct. 4, and it is uncertain whether it will reopen.
