MADISON, Ala. — Madison City School officials will spend $250,000 to install enforced security doors throughout the district.
The new system, which will be installed at eight of the 11 schools in the district, allows doors to be locked from the outside. The only way visitors can get through is to have a school official buzz them inside, WHNT 19 News reports.
Additionally, the district is seeking to upgrade its security camera system, as well as implement a “text-to-protect” program and increase the presence of school resource officers.
