760 Companies May Have Been Victims of Massive Cyberattack

NEW YORK — A list of 760 organizations victimized by a massive cyberattack — including Google, Facebook and Microsoft — was presented to Congress and published by security analyst Brian Krebs on his blog Oct 24. Previously, it was thought the cyberattack only affected RSA’s SecurID tags.

The security industry had suspected RSA was not the only victim, but the company was the only one willing to talk publicly about the attack, CNN reports. Microsoft, one of the few companies that agreed to speak to the news source about the attack since the list was released, said it has not seen any evidence supporting the claim that it was a victim.

The list includes a fifth of the Fortune 100, as well as many other large corporations.
