6 Alaska Middle School Students Arrested For Plotting Attack

Published: April 23, 2006

FAIRBANKS, Alaska – A half dozen seventh graders in the small town of North Pole, Alaska, were arrested April 22 for allegedly plotting to kill fellow students and school faculty with guns and knives.

According to the Associated Press, the suspects were planning to shut down their school’s phone and power systems, which would have given them enough time to murder their intended victims and escape from town. Police say the students were angry for being bullied by other students and wanted revenge.

Town authorities were notified of the possible attack by a parent. The suspects could be charged with conspiracy to commit murder.
