CRAIG, Colo. – Five Moffat County High School football coaches have resigned following allegations that they did not do enough to stop hazing on the team.
The alleged incidents occurred in June at a football camp in Evanston, Wyo. Upperclassmen targeted freshmen boys, and allegedly beat them, tossed urine-filled balloons at the students and attacked victims in the shower room, 9News.com reports.
Parents claim that two of the five coaches were present during the alleged incidents, but did little to stop it.
Although the head coach was not there, he was still asked to resign from his position. All coaches agreed to step down from their positions.
Authorities continue to investigate the case.
It is unclear if the students accused of hazing received any discipline.
