Patient Accused of Selling Drugs from Hospital Room
This story may not have made the cut if it wasn’t for the scale of the operation the accused drug dealer was allegedly running. In 2014 police seized over 300 stamp bags, two syringes and $1,420 from a patient’s hospital room at Excela Westmoreland Hospital in Pennsylvania. The patient was accused of selling heroin from the intensive care unit and later a hospital room. She was also suspected of injecting heroin into her IV system. Hospital staff grew suspicious when they noticed an inordinate amount of foot traffic in one room. Read the original story here.
