Four high school students were arrested in California after police discovered they were plotting to kill students and faculty at an upcoming school event.
The four students, all male, were charged with conspiracy to commit an assault with deadly weapons after they admitted their plan to police, according to modbee.com.
Police were first alerted about the shooting plot when Summerville High School students told school administrators three of their classmates were acting suspiciously. Administrators immediately contacted Tuolumne County police.

Police identified a fourth suspect and uncovered evidence of the plot while searching two of the suspects’ homes. Included in the evidence were lists of names, locations and methods of attack. The students were planning the attack for a specific, upcoming event on campus. No guns were discovered.
Tuolumne County Sheriff Jim Mele says his relationship with the community and local educators helped prevent the attack.
“I believe, with all my heart, the reason we were able to stop this was because we have a level of trust within our community,” Mele said. “When you have a level of trust with the law enforcement, your education – we meet monthly, we meet constantly – you can do this.”
