MILWAUKEE — Four student athletes from Marquette University are the subject of a police investigation into claims of sexual assault. The students were found to have violated the university’s policy against harassment, but a university disciplinary panel determined they were not guilty of sexual assault.
The student who claims to have been assaulted went to police because she believed the students who allegedly assaulted her were receiving preferential treatment as student athletes, ABC News reports. She initially declined assistance from the Milwaukee Police Department.
The female student was allegedly sexually assaulted during a party at a residence hall on Halloween weekend. The university conducted a noncriminal investigation and determined that the accused students had not committed sexual assault.
