3rd Grader Brings $1,000 Worth of Heroin to School

WILKINSBURG, Pa.

Police have arrested the mother of a third grade student who brought nearly $1,000 worth of heroin to his school.

Authorities confiscated 50 to 60 small bags of heroin from the 8-year-old Turner Elementary School student, reports msnbc.com. The student was passing the bags to students.

District officials issued letters to parents explaining that some students may have touched the substance. Parents were urged to discuss the matter with their children.
