SARPY COUNTY, Neb. – Three students arrested on Nov. 30 for allegedly planning to sneak a bomb made of C-4 plastic explosive into Bellevue East High School have now been confined to house arrest.
Sarpy County Juvenile Court Judge Bob O’Neal remanded the three boys, aged 15, 16 and 17, to the custody of their parents on the condition that psychological evaluations demonstrate the boys are not a threat. The 17-year-old student was placed under the custody of the 15-year-old’s parents, as his own parents did not live in Sarpy County. The three students will be monitored electronically.
School officials discovered the alleged plot when another student warned them of a possible attack.
Prosecutors say they are reviewing the case to determine what kinds of charges will be filed and whether the boys will be charged as juveniles or adults.
