ITHACA, N.Y. —Three sexual assaults were reported on and around the Cornell University campus Sunday, prompting police to urge students to “to take prudent and necessary safety precautions.”
In one case, a female victim answered a knock at the door of home and a man she was unfamiliar with forced his way inside, The Cornell Daily Sun reports. He reportedly put his hand under her dress. Thirty minutes later, an alleged rape occurred near a suspension bridge on campus.
Additionally, a student was attacked in a campus parking lot on the same day; her attacker grabbed her around the waist and pulled at her shirt. Other students in the area intervened and the suspect fled.
